Some Things We Can Do Together (2019–2020) is a six-channel video and sculptural installation.First exhibited at the New Bedford Art Museum / ArtWorks! and later expanded for the Institute of Contemporary Art at the Maine College of Art & Design (ICA @ MECA), the work reimagines the McMillans’ earlier architectural environments as miniature habitats shared with birds and other living participants.

Conceived as both a reflection on two decades of practice and a new collaborative ecology, the project integrates footage filmed with motion-activated cameras at birdhouse-scale reconstructions of the artists’ earlier sets—When We Didn’t Touch the Ground (2012), What Stands Between Us and the Sun (2010), While She Waits for the Light (2009), The Shape of Our Best Intentions (2011), and A Slight Shift of Gravity (2008). The result is a layered environment in which memory, collaboration, and observation intersect across six synchronized projections.
